Fourth of July Fun

Start with the Village of Southampton’s legendary, old-fashioned Fourth of July parade down Main Street.

Fireworks! The Grucci family fireworks brand oversees many of the East End’s historic displays commemorating Independence Day. Stars Over Montauk at Umbrella Beach (July 4); Sag Harbor Yacht Club’s John A. Ward Independence Day Fireworks and Amagansett’s Devon Yacht Club Fireworks (July 5), and Orient Harbor’s Fireworks and the Clamshell Foundation’s Fireworks over East Hampton’s Three-Mile Harbor (July 12).

Concerts on July 4^th: Come out for country night with Jettykoon band (The Clubhouse Hamptons); New York DJ Renata do Valle spins an afternoon set with food and drink specials (Canoe Place Inn); Baron’s Cove hosts musician Brad Penuel’s Friday Night Traditional, and Nylon Presents Hugel (The Surf Lodge).

Friends & Family Time: Gather for Gurney’s Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa’s holiday weekend with kids’ activities, wellness classes, dj tunes, beach bonfires and more, and sip red and white wines and craft beer during Dan’s “Red, White + Brews” (Southampton Arts Center, July 5).

Culture Offerings: Browse booths at Bridgehampton Art Affair (Bridgehampton Museum, July 4-6); the Southampton History Museum hosts its Halsey House Gala (Halsey House & Garden, July 5), and visit Southampton Arts Center’s patriotic-themed exhibition “Independency: The American Flag at 250 Years” featuring select historic flags from the collection of John Monsky complemented by abstract painter Sean Scully’s works.
