Celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, Hollander Design Landscape Architects has touched so many lives with its exquisite yards, parks and preserves throughout the Hamptons. Cofounder Ed Hollander said the pandemic ramped up locals’ love of the outdoors. One of his firm’s most requested new amenities is outdoor fireplaces—wood campfires for kids to make s’mores and a gas fire pit for parents to sip wine around. As home owners spend more time here, they’re also reconsidering the wellness aspects of their landscapes. He cited wildflower-filled meadows and pollinator and native adaptive plants as trends replacing formal gardens and great lawns.
