Founded by Blaze Makoid in 2001, BMA Architects has left its modern mark throughout the East End including our new listing at 359 Meadow Lane.
“We worked with the site’s wetlands by conceiving a floor plan of separate volumes [pods] like the downstairs guest bedrooms and the master suite stacked on top of the dramatic entrance,” said BMA principal Glen Cordova. “The volumes are wide open with amazing views of the pond and LaGuardia Design Group’s naturalistic landscaping.”
Privacy is another priority. The residence’s gym acts as a road buffer, while wood louvers shield bedrooms’ balconies. Across the board, clients WFH during covid requested multiple private home offices and outdoor areas.
“We’ve always blurred the indoors and outdoors, but covid made it a necessity,” he said.
BMA tests new techniques constantly. Recent projects range from researching cedar shingle stains for instant, uniform weathering to manufacturers of energy-efficient windows to meet stricter building codes. With projects in Florida and Latin America, BMA opened a Miami office in January.
