Since people are always asking me about real estate and lifestyle matters, we introduced a light and fun monthly Q&A about all sorts of topics.
Plant nurseries and roadside stands for mums and other fall flair to decorate the front porch and yard.
“The main roads (and some backroads) of the North and South Fork are lined with buying opportunities for filling your pantry, your refrigerator and your tabletops. No real favorites as they each offer unique items to purchase along the way.”
Regarding the WSJ story about Bridgehampton being the most expensive place to buy a home in New York, what’s behind the hamlet’s attraction?
“Bridgehampton has some of the most expensive real estate given the oceanfront and bayfront homes as well as the estate homes that front Sagaponack Pond. Overall, the homes are newer and the acreage larger. Finally, the town is centrally located on the East End and easily accessible to all other villages and hamlets.”
Fall dishes I’m craving most to celebrate the changing of the season.
“Striped bass and black sea bass are running this time of year, and some of our local restaurants really know how to prepare these local favorites. Fall fruits and vegetables for soups and baking make for wonderful additions to your favorite dish.”
Wrapping up another season: my takeaways about the local real estate market and transitioning to off-season.
“Our market remains strong with limited inventory and a strong buyer pool waiting in the wings. This is the time of year when deals come together and we finalize transactions with viewings that sometimes took place during the season. The East End is thriving, yet its off-season allows for downtime to enjoy the reasons for living here and planning for the year ahead.”
