Since people are always asking me about real estate and lifestyle matters, we introduced a light and fun monthly Q&A about all sorts of topics.
My Thanksgiving tradition/s:
Catching at least some of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade in person or on television is always a favorite, as is spending time with my children and grandchildren, all of whom will be together around our dinner table this year. So grateful.
Something I’m excited to see in person or watch on TV:
I need to travel to London for business in early December and am excited to see some of the new hotels that opened this summer: OHO Raffles, The Peninsula, The Rosewood and Whiteleys, a landmark that has been reimagined.
State of inventory in the Hamptons:
Does off-season offer a greater pool or are we still experiencing a record low for available residential real estate? We are still experiencing historically low inventory. However, this is a time for properties to come to market in anticipation of a sale closing in the Spring and prior to high season.
Favorite fall activities:
Being outdoors, taking long walks on the beach, experiencing the fresh cool air and watching the colors change in the marsh behind my house.
Great home maintenance tip that should be on your November calendar:
Properly Winterizing any water elements exposed to the freezing temperatures like sprinkler systems, outdoor showers and hose lines. Even when they’re not here, homeowners should set their thermostats to a minimum of 60 degrees. The heat is better for furniture, wood floors and overall systems.
What’s the best thing that’s recently opened in the Hamptons?
ARTISTS CHOOSE PARRISH, Part lll, which just opened at Parrish Art Museum.
