Since people are always asking me about real estate and lifestyle matters, we introduced a light and fun monthly Q&A about all sorts of topics.
The one thing you should do here this Labor Day weekend if nothing else.
“I have very much enjoyed my Barton and Gray Mariners Club membership this year and plan to have my son, his husband and West Coast girlfriend on board for lunch at Duryea’s at Orient Point. Hoping the last days of summer have an ideal weather forecast.”
On my restaurant radar after Labor Day weekend.
“I am looking forward to experiencing chef Doug Gulija’s new Fěniks on Jobs Lane in Southampton.”
Labor Day weekend plans with family and friends.
“We may actually spend some time at the ocean beach on Monday, a place I have only been for work (showing and selling the wonderful oceanfront inventory) versus sitting in a chair or going for a swim. Looking forward to that for sure.”
Memorable recent restaurant experience.
“We enjoyed dinner at The Rams Head Inn on Shelter Island last evening. The grilled fig salad is definitely on the ‘next to favorites’ list.”
Is it a good time to list a home after Labor Day?
“Historically, there has been an increase in inventory post-Labor Day due to owners who may have been renting their properties, or others who have just enjoyed their last summer and have decided to sell. Opportunity exists throughout the year, and it is good to land on something that checks many boxes at any given time.”
