Since people are always asking me about real estate and lifestyle matters, we introduced a light and fun monthly Q&A about all sorts of topics.
Do winter rentals get a feel for summer purchases?
“Historically this has been the case. However, pricing and availability changed during COVID, and homeowners are reluctant to tie their homes up in a long-term winter season rental for fear of not being able to have immediate access to them. Shorter one-month terms are generally achievable.”
My favorite Hamptons holiday event.
“Lighting the Christmas trees, choral and sing-along events, craft and “homemade” markets, and anything that sparkles and twinkles. Marders Garden Center in Bridgehampton has music and a festive atmosphere in the atrium and barn this time of year, plus great shopping.”
My family holiday traditions.
“The holiday season for me is focused around family and enjoying the spirit of Christmas as seen through the eyes of my three grandchildren. Making memories and sharing with those closest to us at our home in Newport, R.I. We decorate our historic 1855 home with lights and garlands—very Norman Rockwell like. I’m also looking forward to a sunny warm vacation in early January with all of them.”
What I hope is under my tree this year.
“A box with a large red bow that is full of all of the good things to happen in 2024!”
Best show that I’ve seen lately.
“My annual viewing of ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ (in black and white) is a season reminder of what it is…”
Why to consider the Hamptons for December visits and seasonal celebrations.
“It is quiet, safe and beautiful. It’s also a good spot to reflect and be at peace within and to plan and put to paper the goals for what will be a spectacular New Year.”
