Since people are always asking me about real estate and lifestyle matters, we introduced a light and fun monthly Q&A about all sorts of topics.
Easter traditions with the grandkids…
“We are home base for this year’s Easter holiday. My children and grandchildren will join us for the weekend to share some traditions, including an early morning at the ocean, egg hunts, baskets filled with chocolates and other goodies, and finally, a delicious meal. I am good for any excuse for us all being together.”
Hot home trends to refresh properties for season…
“A good place to start is creating any type of outdoor area for enjoying the seasons. There are so many brilliant (and affordable) ideas regarding this category. Pinterest, for example, has some very good ones.”
As the marsh comes alive in spring, here are some other outdoor events that I’m looking forward to this month…
“The Madoo Conservancy’s opening for season on April 18; Longhouse Reserve’s Spring Colors Walk: Bulbs and Beyond Daffodils on April 19; Slow Food East End’s family-friendly Earth Day party with music by Points East band and locally sourced fare and wines like Peconic Gold Oysters and Grace & Grit at St. Joseph Villa on April 21, and Quogue Wildlife Refuge and Eastern Long Island Audubon Society’s Earth Day Celebration with guided birding walks, live animal presentations, crafts, environmental exhibitors and self-guided kayaking and canoeing on Old Ice Pond at Quogue Wildlife Refuge on April 26.”
Investing in overlooked hamlets and areas in the East End…
“It is still quiet enough out here to easily get around, navigate trade parade traffic and poke around all of the villages and towns. There are quite a few hidden gems waiting to be explored.”
Favorite garden nurseries…
“Fowler’s Garden Center and Marders continually have the heartiest of plant materials, accessories, pots and all other gardening needs.”
